Asandi Conner

Asandi Conner is a voice bearer, strategist, writer, coach, and designer of beautiful sacred spaces.

She leads the Detroit Equity Action Lab (DEAL), the Keith Center's racial equity leadership development initiative. Through DEAL, she helps equip leaders with tools to disrupt racism and create equitable alternatives.

Before joining DEAL, she helped leaders, entrepreneurs, and organizations communicate their social missions and articulate their authentic voices through her consultancy, Say It Write. She previously led the Detroit Revitalization Fellows (DRF), a talent and leadership development program of Wayne State University's Office of Economic Development. As the DRF's director, she collaborated with diverse stakeholders to build a network of doers focused on Detroit's revitalization.

For over 25 years, Asandi has worked with and for numerous nonprofits and in the education sector. She has built a reputation as a talented verbal and written communicator, mindful listener, and thought partner who is passionate about liberation.

Asandi has two degrees and, more importantly, a multitude of life and career lessons that have shaped her leadership journey. She is a Detroiter and longtime Detroit Lions fan who loves eating chocolate chip cookies, watching Law & Order (and SVU) marathons, gardening, and dancing to house music.
